The end?

For Agora.Brussels, yes—this chapter is closed. We didn’t run in the regional

elections. We cleared out our offices. We handed back the keys to the Brussels

Parliament. The non-profits Reboot Democracy and Agora.Brussels have been

dissolved. Our archives now rest with Amsab, the Institute of Social History. But

make no mistake: this is not silence. This is a legacy. The websites

www.agora.brussels and www.assemblee.brussels will remain online until mid-2026

to inspire other actors in the movement for democratic renewal, though they will no

longer be updated.

And what follows…

Agora.Brussels may be gone, but the Agora project is far from over.

Two new movements have emerged—Agora Belgium and Agora Ciney—built

on the same radical vision: a democracy where citizens are not just voters, but

decision-makers. These collectives are taking the fight forward—up every level of

power, against apathy, against top-down politics, and for a new political culture built

from the ground up.

Join us. Organize. Act. If you believe citizen power should shape this country’s future, stand with us. Reach out at: hello@agorabelgium.be and agoraciney@gmail.com.

Thinking of launching your own Agora structure in your municipality or at another

level of government? Get in touch! Agora is now a registered political trademark,

and the use of its name is subject to specific conditions.

Want to stay active in deliberative democracy?

Still have some energy left? Here are some possibilities:

King Baudouin Foundation

This public utility foundation is a driver of change and innovation for the general interest. Nearly 4,500 experts volunteer by participating in its various juries and committees. This is particularly the case for the new 'Democracy' programme. Expertise in this field? Want to use your skills and knowledge for projects and initiatives in this programme? Send an email to contactcenter@kbs-frb.be.

G1000

This organisation is an expert in the field of randomly selected citizen panels and has advised the Brussels Climate Council and mixed committees, as well as the permanent citizen council in the East Cantons. This autumn, the G1000 is organising a campaign to highlight the importance of democratic renewal. Want to help? Send your details to ben.eersels@g1000.org). and you will be invited to a meeting in September with all the volunteers.

Other tracks

In addition, there are a lot of organizations active around democracy. They gather on the website DemoPart. Impossible to list them all, but this list will give you a good overview. Keep looking for each other, even without Agora!
